Jerez, Spain - The adventure of Füsport - RT Motorsport by SKM - Kawasaki has come to an end with the last WorldSSP300 race weekend of 2024. Team owners Rob Vennegoor and Frank Krekeler decided earlier this season not to extend the project, which has seen many successes since 2019. Unfortunately, the final races in Jerez did not end as hoped, despite the chances of a glorious farewell.

Inigo Iglesias, who still had a chance of winning the world title at Jerez, crashed heavily at turn 13 on Saturday at Jerez, resulting in a broken tibia. It is obviously extremely disappointing for the team and him to end the season this way, but there is also a positive note: Iglesias finished third in the world championship.

Teammate Carter Thompson started the weekend strongly by taking pole position. He made an impressive start in the first race, but after two incidents with other riders - which Carter could do little to nothing about - he finished ninth. For Race 2, he also had high hopes, but crashed and had to retire.

Rob Vennegoor, team owner, expressed his emotions honestly afterwards: ‘I want to thank everyone: all team members, sponsors, Kawasaki, Frank and everyone involved in our adventure. Although it is good to stop, saying goodbye is hard for me. We would have liked our farewell to be very different. On Friday night the world title and maybe even two wins seemed attainable, but on Sunday afternoon we are empty-handed. Although of course we get to celebrate Inigo's third place. It's still a bit sour, but we take all the great memories, results, victories and friendships with us. Thanks again to everyone!’

Füsport - RT Motorsport by SKM - Kawasaki looks back with pride on the successes and experiences of the past years. In the coming period, the team will reflect on the past and perhaps the possibilities for the future. In whatever form and in whatever championship.

The penultimate WorldSSP300 race weekend of 2024, at Motorland Aragon in Spain, started fantastically for Füsport - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki, but ended in frustration. Indeed, despite an impressive win from Iñigo Iglesias in the first race and a strong sixth place from Carter Thompson, things went completely differently than hoped for on Sunday.

During the first race on Saturday, Iñigo Iglesias showed why he is a contender for the world title. He won the race convincingly and brought himself back into the championship battle. His teammate Carter Thompson also performed excellently. He even led the race and battled in the leading group, resulting in a handsome sixth place.

Unfortunately, the tide turned on Sunday. After a quick red flag situation due to a crash, a restart followed over just seven laps. In such a short sprint race, every tenth of a second is crucial. Iñigo Iglesias gave everything to keep his chances of the world title alive, but was penalized by race control for ‘irresponsible driving’. He had crossed the white line in the near of the pitwall, which is not allowed and results in a double long-lap penalty.

The frustration within Füsport - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki was not so much in this particular penalty, but in the fact that Iñigo has already been penalized several times this season, sometimes on questionable grounds. In the end, he finished 18th, increasing his championship deficit to 32 points with two races to go. Mathematically, the world title is certainly possible, but the chances are sadly slim. Carter Thompson also struggled on Sunday, finishing tenth in Race 2.

Reaction Team manager Rob Vennegoor: ‘We might lose the championship because of decisions by the race stewards. Both in Barcelona and Most we would normally have won, but both wins taken away by stewards decisions. Add to that today and those 32 points deficit would probably never have been there. Indeed, Iñigo would very likely have travelled to the final race weekend as the leader. That knowledge hurts. We did not deserve this as a team and so much happens in WorldSSP300 races that consistent punishment is almost impossible. That is not an attack on the race stewards but simply an observation. In Race 2 today, a lot of riders could have been given a penalty. They didn't get one and we did and that hurts, even though Iñigo did something today that was not allowed, but again that is not my point I want to raise. The penalty was a very tough one though because our championship is as good as over... Of course we will go for it in Jerez, for the full 110 per cent!’

The team is now looking ahead to the races at Jerez on the weekend of 19 and 20 October, determined to do everything possible to perform despite the setbacks. And to hope for a miracle...

An eventful weekend at Magny Cours ends in a crash for Inigo Iglesias.

On Friday after the Superpole our replacement rider Samuel di Sora got a penalty for using the 4th engine and that is not allowed. The reason is that Samuel had already used 3 engines at his previous team and so our engine was his 4th. The technical regulations are clear on this and we had no choice but to accept the penalty. In both races Samuel had to start at the back of the grid and take 2 long laps in both races. A heavy penalty that would be difficult to convert into a good result.

Race 1 on Saturday was driven in wet tricky conditions and both our riders Inigo and Samuel built up the race in a controlled way for the best result and to score points. Samuel did a fantastic catch-up race despite the 2 long laps and starting at the back he finished 13th! Inigo Iglesias rode carefully for the points important in the battle for the world championship and finished 7th.

Race 2 on Sunday was under good conditions and Inigo fought for the win, riding in 3rd place Inigo was knocked down 3 corners before the finish and unfortunately lost valuable points for the championship. The rider in question was punished with a longlap/3sec penalty, but that did not help us in the points standings with the competitors for the title

Samuel di Sora planned to take early longlaps in order to have his advantage in case of a red flag, a red flag was sent due to oil on the track. On the lap that Samuel had done his first longlap, the red flag also followed. Inquiry with the steward learned that the longlap was accepted and therefore 1 more to be taken in the shortened race over 7 laps. Unfortunately, just before the re-start we were informed that the long lap was disallowed and Di Sora had to take a long lap twice in 7 laps... Samuel's race was an impossible result in advance and he finished 20th.

           Team manager Rob Vennegoor

If you have to take a resume of the year to date, it will be a hot battle until the end. Inigo won the first race in Catalunya but the win was taken away from him after the podium ceremony, in Most Inigo was taken away from the win in Race 2 and now in Magny Cours Inigo was knocked down in race 2. Racing sometimes brings emotions and disappointment because we also want to win our first World Championship title together with Inigo. But as always, we accept decisions that have been made and fight back on the track. As a team we stand strongly behind our riders and all our partners. We will come back strongly at Aragon 27-29 September with Inigo Iglesias and Carter Thompson and hopefully Petr Svoboda will be fit to ride in our team again for the final races at Jerez mid October.

Expectations for the Portimao race weekend were high after the promising results at the Most circuit. Moreover,

In the first race, unfortunately, things did not quite go as hoped. Iñigo and Carter had to run wide on the opening

managed to fight their way back into the top 10. Iñigo even joined the leading group, but on the last lap he

Unfortunately, the second race was even less successful for the team. Iñigo had to retire early in the race due to a

Despite these setbacks, Iñigo Iglesias still remains in contention for the world title, trailing the leader by just 10

points. With three race weekends - and six races - to go, there is plenty of hope for a successful end to the season.

podium, it's all relative. Besides, Iñigo still has a chance of winning the world title, so there's no doubt it's going to

be very interesting races this year!"

It is with great enthusiasm that we announce that Füsport - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki put in a great performance at the ASBK Supersport 300 championship in Australia! A month ago, we already shared the news that we would be competing with Petr Svoboda in this national championship, and last weekend it finally happened. And what a weekend it was. Thanks to a unique collaboration with Wepol Racing Parts and Füsport, we were now able to race outside Europe. With Jed Metcher as Petr Svoboda's crew chief, the team was ready to score. And they did! Petr got off to a fantastic start by finishing first in qualifying for the Australian Supersport 300 race.

But it got even better. In Race 1 and Race 2, Petr showed why he is such a talented driver. He took both wins during his first appearance at Phillip Island. Unfortunately, Race 3 went a little less smoothly for Petr. After a good start, he ended up in the gravel on the long straight of the famous Phillip Island Grand Prix Circuit. Petr managed to get his Kawasaki Ninja 400 back on track and then showed why he is a true race winner. In just three laps, Petr managed to climb from P21 back to the lead and broke the 2020 lap record in the process!

In the end, Petr finished on a very close P3, thanks to a thrilling slipstream finish. But that didn't make him any less the overall winner of ASBK Supersport 300 Round 1 as well as the new lap record holder!

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: ‘We are incredibly proud of Petr and would like to thank everyone who helped us make this possible. A special shoutout to WRP Wepol Racing, Füsport, Jed Metcher, Paul Grant-Mitchell, Brian and Craig, all the people at MA and ASBK and of course Mark Bracks for the great commentary. You guys have made this experience unforgettable!’

Challenging end to 2023 for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki after impressive WorldSSP300 season

After already concluding the IDM Supersport 300 season last week, the final WorldSSP300 race weekend was scheduled for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki last weekend. The venue was the beautiful Portimão circuit in southern Portugal. Prior to the weekend, expectations were high for Petr Svoboda, who was looking to take his revenge at Portimão after a difficult weekend at Aragon, but was still searching for his rhythm on Friday.

A five-spot grid penalty and longlap - for riding too slowly between sectors – and armpump did not help, as it forced him to start from P19. After a challenging Race 1, he also crossed the finish line in 19th place, directly behind his teammate Troy Alberto. For both Troy and Petr, there might still have been World Championship points in it, had the race not been red-flagged just before the end due to a crash.

Sunday was also challenging unfortunately, with Petr having to retire just before the end of the race and Troy finishing 19th with a three-second penalty.

Thanks to two wins and three podiums, Petr finished 6th in the final standings with 121 points. Troy finished the season on P35, with two points.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'Although the weekend at Portimão didn't go as hoped, we have had a fantastic season. With Petr's double victory at the TT Circuit in Assen as the absolute highlight. It is unfortunate that he got it a little tougher towards the end of the season, but let's mostly remember the great moments of 2023. We do the same with Troy, who has once again confirmed he can learn a huge amount and I am sure he can still make a lot of progression. Although the winter break has officially started, our focus is already fully on 2024. Thanks for all the support this year and on to a fantastic new season. We can't wait for the first winter tests.’

Saturday with a win and a double podium thanks to reigning IDM Supersport 300 champion Iñigo Iglesias' first

place and an equally impressive third place from Max Zachmann. A second highlight followed on Sunday as Inigo

The WorldSSP300 team of FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki unfortunately experienced many more

challenges a lot further south. As Petr Svoboda crashed in the first race at Motorland Aragon in Spain, he lost

important points in the World Championship battle. Troy Alberto finally got his reward on Saturday by finishing

but fell just short each time. Until last Saturday! Sunday unfortunately ended in disappointment as both riders

crashed in Race 2. This unfortunately leaves Petr with no chance of becoming this year's champion.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'To be honest, it feels special that our IDM adventure is over now, but this is also

everyone who supported us in any way during this unforgettable adventure. That we ended the IDM chapter with

so much success at Hockenheim makes it extra special. Petr unfortunately had a harder time in Aragon. However,

we will do everything we can to end the season on a high next weekend at Portimão. The same goes for Troy who

has made serious progress this weekend and seems ready for the races in Portugal. On to a great final of 2023!

Petr experienced a difficult Superpole session on Saturday, forcing him to start from 22nd place. Fortunately, a few hours later in Race 1, he managed to move up several positions immediately and eventually finished 13th, scoring important points for the World Championship title battle.

Sunday's race presented the same picture, although this time Petr managed to end in 11th place. This leaves him 28 points behind the leader in the standings with two race weekends to go. There are still a total of 100 points to earn, so everything is still possible for Svoboda and FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki. Especially in the WorldSSP300!

The weekend in France went the exact opposite way for Troy Alberto. He did have a very strong Superpole with a tenth place, but fell just short of points in the races. On Saturday he finished seventeenth, on Sunday sixteenth.

The next race weekend for the WorldSSP300 is two weeks from now at Aragon in Spain, followed by a weekend later to conclude the season at Portimao in Portugal. The final IDM race weekend will also take place in a fortnight' time, at Hockenheim in Germany.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'It was a weekend with two faces. Where Petr struggled in the Superpole, Troy rode very strongly, while in the races Petr managed to fight his way back where Troy struggled a bit more. Looking back at this challenging weekend, there are plenty of positives to build on in Aragon and Portimao. We are therefore looking forward to the final WorldSSP300 races of 2023 with a lot of confidence!

After another high-profile IDM race weekend, this time at the Dutch TT Circuit in Assen, Inigo Iglesias is the 2023 IDM Supersport 300 champion. For FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki, it is the second title in a row after the Dutch-German team also took the title last year with Marvin Siebrath. That fact forms a special chapter at the IDM's farewell at the end of this season.

Like earlier at the Red Bull Ring, the weekend in Assen was also one of commotion. Inigo Iglesias and Kevin Sabatucci finished qualifying in first and second place respectively, but were dropped to P4 and P5 due to a much-discussed penalty. Obviously, a disappointment, but FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki decided to take from the penalty even more motivation for both races. And with success, as Inigo finished third in the first race - gaining points for P2 because a wildcard rider finished ahead of him - only to win the second race to become with the race weekend at Hockenheim still to go IDM Supersport 300 champion!

With Kevin on P3 in Race 2, it became a double podium in addition to the championship. Kevin already finishing strongly fifth in Race 1 as the Italian once again proved to be a talent as he was only riding his first IDM races for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki at the TT Circuit of Assen. Max Zachmann also rode a strong weekend in which he finished 11th and 8th. Australia's Tara Morrison got her first chance to race in Europe this weekend and did well with two 24th place finishes in a weekend that was mainly about acclimatization.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'It's very special to be champion again! Many thanks to everyone who made this possible, because without all our team members, sponsors, and fans this would be impossible. It is also a special way to say goodbye to our IDM period with a title, although of course we will still give everything during the final weekend at Hockenheim. Besides Inigo, Kevin and Tara obviously deserve all the praise, as they both left a strong impression on their debuts. Especially for Tara as the switch from Australia to Holland was big. With Max's good results, we once again look back on a very strong weekend from the whole team and that makes me proud. Like the second title in a row!'

The IDM traditionally concludes the season in Hockenheim, Germany, on the weekend from 22 to 24 September.

Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki leaves IDM championship!

The ongoing IDM Supersport 300 Championship will be the last for Team Fusport – RT Motorsport by SKM – Kawasaki. After the last Supersport 300 race on Sunday in Hockenheim, it's definitely over.

There are many reasons for that. Insiders know how much energy and time the team owners and staff have invested in competing in two championships, the IDM Supersport 300 and the World Supersport 300 Championship since 2019. In addition, both team owners have their own businesses, which will certainly take a lot of time. All of this has left its mark and Kawasaki Germany was recently notified of the withdrawal. With mutual understanding also for other situations that play a role in the IDM championship, we say goodbye to each other in a friendly manner and see whether future cooperation will arise, as the connection between Kawasaki Motor Germany, Kawasaki Motor Europe and our team is close and strong.

There were many highlights in the period from 2019 to 2023, but both team owners were already successfully active in the IDM in the years before this project, Frank since 1997 and Rob since 2005.

The RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki team has been participating in the IDM Supersport 300 Championship with the support of many partners for 5 successful years and offers many young talents a chance in the IDM and supports them in a professional team structure. The culmination of this work was Marvin Siebdrath winning the title in 2022 and of course winning the title again, this time with Inigo Iglesias, would be a great conclusion!

From the 2019 season to the present, Team RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki has clearly made its mark on the IDM Supersport 300 Championship, taking it to a new level.

19 wins, 22 second places and 18 third places have so far gone to the team account.

About what happened in race 2 at the Red Bull Ring on August 6th, 2023

A lot has been written on social media in the last two days and we as a team would like to comment as follows:

On Sunday after race 2 in the IDM Supersport 300 class at the Red Bull Ring, our Crew Chief Bernd Klockmann and also our affected rider Petr Svoboda went to the race control to find out about the assessment/decision regarding the incident at start finish and Petr's crash to inform in turn 2. They were informed by the race director that these were "normal" racing situations. Whether Petr's crash was a normal racing accident is open to debate. From our point of view, the incident at the start/finish does not need to be discussed and should be punished by the race control! If such things catch on and there are no penalties to be feared, it is only a matter of time before something bad happens. When it comes to safety, the race control or the responsible association must act afterwards. That is what we expect from those responsible.

Following the incidents at the IDM Red Bull Ring, Petr Svoboda has decided to withdraw from further participation in the IDM Supersport 300 Championship.

Challenging weather conditions at last WorldSSP300 race weekend before summer break in Most

Already for the third weekend in a row, FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki was in action last weekend. This time at the special Autodrom Most in the Czech Republic for the last WorldSSP300 races before the long summer break. A special race weekend for local hero Petr Svoboda, which started even more special as he was the fastest rider on Friday.

Race 1 did start under dry conditions, but rain started to fall, allowing riders to change tyres in the pits. Petr, however, decided to stay out. A crash caused him to initially fall back to P15, but Petr stayed motivated on slicks and finished in P6. His rivals in the championship had a much harder time, allowing Petr to make up a lot of points. Troy Alberto had a good start and moved up into the top-10. He did decide to come in to change tyres and eventually finished Race 1 in 19th.

The second race on Sunday afternoon was first postponed and then shortened due to heavy rain. And conditions were still poor at the final start. Fortunately, Petr did what he had to do: finish the race and score points. He eventually finished eighth and is now third in the World Championship standings with just four points behind the leader. Teammate Troy had a second race to quickly forget and in which he did not cross the finish line due electronic problems.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'How much can happen in one weekend! Because of the changing weather conditions, we knew before that it was going to be a special weekend and it turned out to be true. Petr did a fantastic job because there's really no underestimating what it's like to ride as one of the home heroes on a weekend like this. And Troy was also strong. He wasn't lucky in Race 1, otherwise points would definitely have been achievable.'

The next WorldSSP300 race weekend is September 8 - 10 at Magny-Cours in France. The IDM has no summer break, as next weekend they race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria.

Mixed feelings for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki after eventful weekend at Schleizer Dreieck

The IDM Supersport 300 race weekend at the Schleizer Dreieck is always one of the highlights of the year, but for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki it unfortunately did not turn out as hoped this year.

Inigo Iglesias started the weekend promisingly with a third-place finish in the first race after qualifying second. Nothing to worry about and important points for the championship, in which he held a 22-point lead after Race 1. But Race 2 ended with a big disappointment... What should have been a fantastic finish, with almost certainly another podium finish, ended in the gravel trap after an incomprehensible action by another rider. That other rider was thereby disqualified, but that did not diminish the important point loss for Inigo. He is now three points behind the leader in the standings.

Fortunately, Troy Alberto's success made up for a lot. He had a strong weekend and finished in a great sixth place in Race 1 and a fantastic fourth place in the eventful Race 2. With this, Troy once again shows that he has the speed for top rankings and after this success he is determined to maintain this feeling during the upcoming WorldSSP300 weekend at Most. Max Zachmann also rode very strongly, finishing 11th in Race 1 and even seventh in Race 2, allowing him to go home with a load of points.

Petr Svoboda had to skip the weekend due to illness but is fortunately fit again for his WorldSSP300 home race at Most.

           Team manager Rob Vennegoor:

'Also this is racing, but to be honest it's very hard to accept because we lost an incredible number of important points in the title fight. Saturday night everything looked so promising, but unfortunately things can change quickly... Fortunately nothing is lost yet, because at the end of the day Inigo's points gap to the leader is still small. And fortunately, Troy and Max made up for a lot by racing two rock-solid races. This shows that as a team we are incredibly strong and getting even stronger and that's great to see as a team manager. On to Most!’

Tara is the 21st rider from Australia who will support by Rob Vennegoor, team manager of FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki, in a hopefully successful European career.

Rob Vennegoor: "I am happy and proud that with Tara, we can give another racer from Australia the opportunity to experience racing in Europe. Extra special is that she is supported by David Johnson, with whom it all started for me in 2005. That we are going to work together again is special.

After several weeks off, FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki returned to action this weekend in the WorldSSP300 at the famous Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari di Imola in Italy. With scorching hot conditions - even in the shade! - it became a challenge for man and machine. But a challenge that Petr Svoboda and his teammate Troy Alberto took on full of motivation and enthusiasm. This resulted in promising results in the Superpole, as Petr finished third and secured himself a front row starting spot. Troy also rode strongly and ended in thirteenth place during the Superpole, just half a second from the top five.

In the first race, on Saturday afternoon, everything went according to plan for Petr for a long time; he was fighting for P3 and seemed to be on his way to another podium. But due to a near-highsider at the end of the race, he lost a lot of time with just a few laps to go. Although it was especially impressive that he didn't crash.... Unfortunately, there was not much time to recover so Petr had to be satisfied with fourteenth place. Teammate Troy also had to overcome a few challenges in the first of two races and ended up 0.235 seconds short of the final World Championship point.

The goal for Sunday's race was clear for both Petr and Troy after Saturday's challenges, as both riders wanted to show that a much better result was possible with just a little more luck. With once again blisteringly hot conditions, Petr fought for all he was worth in a big group battling for P4 to eventually cross the finish line in eighth place. Troy was heading to a World Championship point for a long time but was overtaken just before the end of the race to finish 16th again.

In the WorldSSP300 standings, Petr is now third while Troy is 26th.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: ‘This was not just any race weekend, but one we will remember for a very long time because of the heat. A big compliment to both riders and team members who had to work under extreme conditions, as with temperatures up to over forty degrees it is not easy to keep focus. The fact that everyone managed to do so says a lot about the team spirit within FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki. Unfortunately, things weren't too good in both races, but that can happen sometimes and is part and parcel of motor racing. In terms of race pace, it was good and that is the most important fact for the rest of the season.’

The next WorldSSP300 race weekend is in two weeks’ time at Most in the Czech Republic. A special weekend for Petr who will be riding his home race. After a successful IDM weekend at Most, earlier this year, FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki is ready for the last WorldSSP300 weekend before the long summer break of the WorldSBK starts. But before Most, all riders of FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki will start next weekend during the IDM Supersport 300 weekend at Schleiz, the IDM highlight of the year.

FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki enjoyed a historic IDM Supersport 300 weekend at Most in the Czech Republic. It started impressively during qualifying, where Petr Svoboda, Iñigo Iglesias and Troy Alberto ensured a front-row lockout for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki. With Petr in pole position and Iñigo and Troy right behind, while Max Zachmann showed great potential as well with a promising 14th place, just one second off the top three.

Race 1 also ended fantastically for the Dutch-German team, as local hero Petr managed to win. Iñigo also did a fantastic job and crossed the finish line in second place! Troy fought impressively for P4 throughout the race and eventually managed to cross the finish line in sixth place. Max improved tremendously in Race 1 and even managed to record the fifth fasted lap time of the race, en route to a fine twelfth place.

The second race presented the same vibe as before, although this time it was not Petr who won, but his teammate Iñigo. Because Petr did finish second, it was another fantastic race for FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki in a weekend to remember. Troy's top-10 finish (P9) fits perfectly in this so successful weekend in that respect. The only setback was that Max was taken out of Race 2 through no fault of his own. Nevertheless, Max can also reflect on a promising weekend.

After three race weekends, Iñigo leads the standings with 115, giving him a 19-point lead over the number two. Petr is fourth, despite missing two races. Troy is 15th and Max 17th. The next race weekend takes place from 21 to 23 July at the famous Schleizer Dreieck in Germany.

Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'These are weekends you won't soon forget. Especially the front-row lockout after qualifying was very special and a big compliment to the entire team. We also managed to keep the momentum very well and that's perhaps even more bang on, because thanks to successes in both the WorldSSP300 and the IDM Supersport 300 we looking forward to the upcoming races!
