Double podium for Füsport - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki during home race at TT Circuit Assen

Assen, the Netherlands
It was an exciting and important weekend for Füsport - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki at the TT
Circuit Assen in the WorldSSP300, during the Dutch round of the WorldSBK. However, the weather
provided challenges throughout the weekend. Rain, sun, and low temperatures made conditions very
difficult for the riders. On the first day, Petr Svoboda qualified in a promising third place, while Iñigo
Iglesias lost his place on the front row of the grid due to an overtaking under a yellow flag situation. As a
result, he had to start from 13th place.
But during Race 1 on Saturday, Iñigo proved that his starting position was no obstacle. He quickly
overtook other riders and finished in a strong third place, with a difference of only 0.086 second from the
winner. Petr also rode strongly and finished fourth, just half a second behind his teammate. The race was
run in two parts due to a crash, for which the red flag went out.
On Sunday, the results of the Füsport - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki riders were exactly reversed,
with Petr on the third step of the podium and he was even close to being the winner. Iñigo finished fourth
after a strong catch-up race. In the standings, Iñigo is now second with 57 points, just six points behind
the leader in the WorldSSP300 standings. Petr follows in third place with 53 points.
After a short break, the team will soon begin preparing for the next race, which will take place June 14-16
at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy.
Team manager Rob Vennegoor is pleased with the team's performance, "What a hectic weekend this was.
Not only because of the action on track, but also because of the weather. Looking back, we can be
satisfied with the results. In these tricky conditions, a crash happens in no time, so with two third places
and two fourth places, Iñigo and Petr did an excellent job, especially when you look at the championship.
There are still many races on the calendar, but a DNF will haunt you for a long time. Thanks for all the
support during our home race!"
