Füsport – RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki leaves IDM championship!

The ongoing IDM Supersport 300 Championship will be the last for Team Fusport – RT Motorsport by SKM – Kawasaki. After the last Supersport 300 race on Sunday in Hockenheim, it's definitely over.
There are many reasons for that. Insiders know how much energy and time the team owners and staff have invested in competing in two championships, the IDM Supersport 300 and the World Supersport 300 Championship since 2019. In addition, both team owners have their own businesses, which will certainly take a lot of time. All of this has left its mark and Kawasaki Germany was recently notified of the withdrawal. With mutual understanding also for other situations that play a role in the IDM championship, we say goodbye to each other in a friendly manner and see whether future cooperation will arise, as the connection between Kawasaki Motor Germany, Kawasaki Motor Europe and our team is close and strong.
There were many highlights in the period from 2019 to 2023, but both team owners were already successfully active in the IDM in the years before this project, Frank since 1997 and Rob since 2005.
The RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki team has been participating in the IDM Supersport 300 Championship with the support of many partners for 5 successful years and offers many young talents a chance in the IDM and supports them in a professional team structure. The culmination of this work was Marvin Siebdrath winning the title in 2022 and of course winning the title again, this time with Inigo Iglesias, would be a great conclusion!
From the 2019 season to the present, Team RT Motorsports by SKM – Kawasaki has clearly made its mark on the IDM Supersport 300 Championship, taking it to a new level.
19 wins, 22 second places and 18 third places have so far gone to the team account.
About what happened in race 2 at the Red Bull Ring on August 6th, 2023
A lot has been written on social media in the last two days and we as a team would like to comment as follows:
On Sunday after race 2 in the IDM Supersport 300 class at the Red Bull Ring, our Crew Chief Bernd Klockmann and also our affected rider Petr Svoboda went to the race control to find out about the assessment/decision regarding the incident at start finish and Petr's crash to inform in turn 2. They were informed by the race director that these were "normal" racing situations. Whether Petr's crash was a normal racing accident is open to debate. From our point of view, the incident at the start/finish does not need to be discussed and should be punished by the race control! If such things catch on and there are no penalties to be feared, it is only a matter of time before something bad happens. When it comes to safety, the race control or the responsible association must act afterwards. That is what we expect from those responsible.
Following the incidents at the IDM Red Bull Ring, Petr Svoboda has decided to withdraw from further participation in the IDM Supersport 300 Championship.
