Everything still possible for Svoboda and FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki after challenging
weekend in France

The WorldSSP300 race weekend at Magny-Cours, France, with a thirteenth and eleventh place finish for Petr Svoboda and FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki didn’t bring what was hoped for beforehand. Petr experienced a difficult Superpole session on Saturday, forcing him to start from 22nd place. Fortunately, a few hours later in Race 1, he managed to move up several positions immediately and eventually finished 13th, scoring important points for the World Championship title battle.
Sunday's race presented the same picture, although this time Petr managed to end in 11th place. This leaves him 28 points behind the leader in the standings with two race weekends to go. There are still a total of 100 points to earn, so everything is still possible for Svoboda and FÜSPORT - RT Motorsports by SKM - Kawasaki. Especially in the WorldSSP300!
The weekend in France went the exact opposite way for Troy Alberto. He did have a very strong Superpole with a tenth place, but fell just short of points in the races. On Saturday he finished seventeenth, on Sunday sixteenth.
The next race weekend for the WorldSSP300 is two weeks from now at Aragon in Spain, followed by a weekend later to conclude the season at Portimao in Portugal. The final IDM race weekend will also take place in a fortnight' time, at Hockenheim in Germany.
Team manager Rob Vennegoor: 'It was a weekend with two faces. Where Petr struggled in the Superpole, Troy rode very strongly, while in the races Petr managed to fight his way back where Troy struggled a bit more. Looking back at this challenging weekend, there are plenty of positives to build on in Aragon and Portimao. We are therefore looking forward to the final WorldSSP300 races of 2023 with a lot of confidence!
